Minister of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China(AQSIQ), Li Changjiang led a delegation to Indonesia from Nov 14 to 18 and met with Indonesian government officials including Chairman of National Agency of Drug and Food Control(BPOM), Ms Husyani, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fishery, Mr. Freddy Numberi and Director General of Agricultural Quarantine Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Syukur Iwantoro.

The two sides held talks on establishing a ministerial mechanism on quality supervision and inspection between China and ASEAN, product quality, food safety and problems aroused from inspection and quarantine in bilateral trade and the resumption by Chinese side of Indonesia aquatic products and other issues of common concern.

On Nov 19th, Minister Li Changjiang also met with the Indonesian Trade Minister Mrs. Mari Elka Pangestu in Singapore, and exchanged views on facilitating the settlement of food safety problems in bilateral trade.
