Expo Central China 2008 will be held on April 26-28, 2008 in Wuhan, Hubei province of China.
The Expo Central China is approved by the State Council of the People鈥檚 Republic of China and jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, State Administration of Taxation, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, State Administration for Radio, Film and Television, China National Tourism Administration, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as the People鈥檚 Governments of Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan Provinces.
The central region of China covers 6 provinces, namely Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan, with a total area of 1.028 million square km and a population of 361 million. It lies in the inner heartland of China, enjoying the geographical advantage of being the interlink of eastern China and western China, and connecting the north with the south. It boasts abundant natural, cultural and tourist resources as well as a concentration of research and education institutes. It has a strong industrial foundation covering all major industrial sectors. It enjoys good eco-environment and great potentials. It is also an important base of agricultural production, and a manufacturing center of energy, raw materials and equipment.
Taking the theme of 鈥淭aking Over the Industrial Shifting & Promoting the Rise of Central China鈥, the Expo will highlight the regional characteristics of Central China and try to establish a platform of economic and technological communication and cooperation for both domestic and overseas merchants by the integration of investment & trade exhibitions, introduction of investment projects, business matchmaking and economic symposia focusing on the fields of logistics, finance, automobile, tourism, energy saving, environment protection, Hi-tech and optoelectronic industries, etc., so as to promote the shifting of international capital and Chinese coastal industries to Central China, to achieve a win-win situation by interaction and mutual development.
