Under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, the Yiwu International Commodities Fair (Yiwu Fair) was first held in 1995. To date, 10 fairs have been held with huge success. The Yiwu Fair has become the largest and the most influential international trade show dedicated to consumer goods, and the third largest specialized trade fair on commodities for daily use next only to the Guangzhou Trade Fair and Shanghai Trade Fair.

 The 2005 Yiwu International Commodities Fair will be held between October 22 and 26 in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province. Centering around the theme of “Consumer Goods & New Life”, this year’s Fair is designed to explore and expand potential business opportunities. There will be over 3,000 booths or market stalls covering an area of 70,000 square meters. Products at the Fair are grouped into 8 such areas as handicrafts and art, household appliances, sports equipment, toys, hardware, cosmetics, leather bags, brand name products, and e-commerce. Over 1,700 companies will participate, and more than 80,000 business people from over 120 countries and regions around the world will attend the Fair.
