China-Northern Europe Trade & Investment Fair, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the P.R. China, will be held in Stockholm International Fairs from 18 to 21 October, 2005.
In recent years, being the first exhibition hosted by the Chinese government in Northern Europe, China-Northern Europe Trade & Investment Fair is aimed at promoting the bilateral economic & trade cooperation between China and Northern Europe, showcasing the industrial and high-tech products, technology and services of the Chinese companies, and strengthening the communication and cooperation among the Chinese and Northern European enterprises.
Over the past a few years, in particular after China’s entry into the WTO, there has been a dramatic increase in the bilateral trade between China and Northern European countries and closer cooperation in investment and technology. In September 2004, Madame Wu Xi, Vice Premier of the State Council of the P.R. China, paid a successful visit to Sweden which gave new impetus to the Sino-Swedish economic and trade cooperation. As an important follow-up event, China-Northern Europe Trade & Investment Fair will promote the development of trade and economic relations between China and Northern European countries.
Covering an area of 1,303 sqm, China-Northern Europe Trade & Investment Fair will be held in conjunction with the Scandinavian Technical Fair 2005, displaying the advanced products and technology of the Chinese companies in the fields of industrial automation, machinery and components manufacturing, telecommunications, industrial electronics and electrical appliances, surface treating and metal processing, optical, testing and measurement, materials handling, chemical engineering and environmental protection.
China, having the only and largest national pavilion in the Scandinavian Technical Fair 2005, has been invited by the Stockholm International Fairs as the Partner Country of the fair. During the fair, China will host a series of events including Opening Ceremony of the China-Northern Europe Trade & Investment Fair on October 18th, 2005 and the China-Sweden Investment Seminar and Business Match-Making Symposium on October 19th, 2005.
