Jun 7-10: CIEPEC 2005

The 9th China International Environmental Protection Exhibition and Conference,
the most comprehensive and professional environmental protection exhibition in
China. Thanks to the positive previous experiences, some specific theme exhibition
halls and pavilions will be set up with an eye not only to enhance the professional
and comprehensive design, but also to promote the exchange and communication between
exhibitors and visitors.

Jun 10-12: PGA Show Asia

China international golf expo. The 2005 show is a merger of the China (Beijing)
International Golf Expo and the PGA Show Asia. The PGA Show Asia has been held
successfully for the past three years and has gathered widespread support from
golf associations, while the China (Beijing) International Golf Expo is a trusted
brand name within the domestic golf industry and one that has been widely recognized.
"Domestically, the show has become the focal point for developments and advancements
in the golf industry," said a spokesperson for organizers International Management
Concepts, AIT Events and Shenzhen Jingjinhai Golf Investments. "The 2005
show will capitalize on the support we have had and the experiences we have gathered
in the last three years and we promise an exhibition that will set the benchmark
for the industry." China Golf Expo's strength in the domestic market is boosted
by the recognition the PGA Show Asia enjoys globally. The PGA Show Asia will bring
more overseas exhibitors to China, create trade opportunities, build networking
ties and be the ideal platform for international golf trade, the organizers say.

Jun 13-15: Metro Expo

Exhibition on metro, light rail transit & hi-speed rail transit.

China's phenomenal economic growth produces three formidable economic zones: Yangtze
River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Bohai Bay Economic Zone. The distance amongst
the majority cities of each economic zone is within 300 km. Thus, construction
of intercity hi-speed rail transit with speed of around 300 km/hr will greatly
reduce the traveling time among cities, which in turn will be advantageous to
further integrate and jointly develop the region economy. Indeed, the 3 big economic
zones are all launching intercity traffic track plan and construction will presumably
reach a climax in the coming decade.

Up to now, cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and so forth have metro
lines in operation with total length over 150 km. The respective Metro Line 1
in cities namely Shenzhen, Nanjing and Chongqing will also be officially operating
by 2005. Safety and protection as well as examination and maintenance of the respective
equipment in underground track traffic will be on top of the agenda.

To address the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing Municipality hosted an investment
and project promotion conference in April 2004. What becomes most noticeable is
the project for four newly built metro lines - total length 103.54 km; 87 stations;
total investment of RMB 50 billion. Beijing's metro construction will reach a
new climax. It is anticipated the total length of metro and light rail of the
city will surpass 200 km by 2008.

Jun 13-15: Power Expo

Power Expo is sponsored by China Electricity Council and supported by China 231
Large-Scale & Medium sized Electric Power Supply Enterprises. Directors and
Chief Engineers from China 231 Large-Scale & Medium-Sized Electric Power Supply
Enterprises that account over 80% of the nation's electricity sales will attend
the exhibition. Issue on development of power supply industry will also be discussed
at the concurrent Chief Engineers' Meeting.

Power Expo will bring together techno-commercial personnel from areas of generation,
transmission, distribution and maintenance, specifiers, consultants and decision
makers from the power industry from all over China.

Jun 22-24: BITE 2005: Beijing International Tourism Expo

Serves as a premium marketplace for exhibitors targeting the huge international
and domestic tourism market in China. China's travel and tourism industry has
been growing rapidly since the late 1970's, when the country underwent policy
reforms to open up its economy. Membership in the World Trade Organization and
future hosting of the 2008 Olympic Games and World Expo 2010 have re-affixed industry
eyes on China, generating awareness and interest in the country's booming tourism
market.

According to statistics released by the State Statistics Bureau of China, the
three markets of China's inbound, domestic and outbound tourism are experiencing
continuous high-speed growth. In the nine months leading up to March 2004, China
received 28.12 million travelers, up 14.8% from the same period in 2003. Foreign
visitors brought 17.79 billion US dollars to the region, an increase of 9.7% from
the previous year.

Already, 24 of China's 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions have
included tourism as a pillar industry. While natural parks are its leading tourist
attraction, China is diversifying into the theme and amusement park industry,
as well as agricultural, industrial and ecological forms of tourism. Improvements
in China's transportation have also been made to handle the growing amount of
passenger traffic, such as the opening of Guangzhou's state-of-the-art 'Baiyun'
airport in August 2004.

China is expected to be the world's most popular tourist destination and the fourth
largest tourism source by 2020. With the advantage of abundant tourism resources,
China's tourism sector is maturing into one of the country's main growth drivers
in the 21st century.

Jun 28-30: FHC Beijing 2005

The 13th international exhibition of food & drink, retail & hospitality
equipment, supplies and services. From the newly-liberalised supermarket sector
through to hotels, restaurants and the fast-growing fast food sector, opening
the doors to the new markets of north China, FHC Beijing brings together international
suppliers, local distributors and the ultimate customer.

Aug 06-09: Beijing International Gift & Housewares Exhibition

Aug 12-15: China International Beauty Exhibition

The largest scaled beauty event in north of China, with a history of 10 years.
The beauty industry in China has become in 2004 the fifth consumption focus following
housing, personal automobile, leisure travel, household electrical appliances/personal
communication. The sales revenues of beauty products reached 5.2 billion euro
and the total revenues from the beauty service industry were 30 billion euro in
2004. By 2010 China's gross cosmetic sales are expected to grow 13 percent annually.
Over 3500 domestic and more than 700 foreign invested enterprises have licenses
to produce beauty products in China. Foreign enterprises make up approximately
20 percent of the cosmetic market in China.

In the skin care product sector, professional skin care sales (selling through
beauty institutes or beauty salons) account for a relatively small market proportion
with less 20 percent of sales generating from this channel. This market is characterized
by the small operational sizes of beauty institutions and low market entry threshold.
In terms of investment model of beauty institutes, the independent investment
accounts for 55.5 percent while joint investment/operation accounts for 10.7 percent
and the franchising for 4 percent respectively. At present, this market is quite
fragmented and there are many different brands of beauty and skin care product
sold in this channel. There are large quality variances for services and products
provided in this sector and the quality issue remains an important problem due
to the lack of unified standards to regulate beauty-related technologies and products.
In this sector, many imported brands already entered into China's market and among
them the quality also differs largely from one to another. Among them consumption
of high end foreign skin care products is mainly concentrated in big cities such
as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. China requires a quality license for cosmetic
products before granting import approval.
