With a view to further promoting the economic and trade cooperation and exchange between China and Europe, as well as to making Chinese brands better known among both the trade visitors and consumers in the European Union, the Ministry of Commerce of P. R. China will hold the 2nd European Showcase for Brands of China during the Autumn Fair in Birmingham, the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland from September 4th to 7th, 2005 upon the successful debut of the European Showcase for Brands of China in Birmingham in September 2004.
The 2nd European Showcase for Brands of China will still be located in Hall 9 of the National Exhibition Center(NEC) in Birmingham, UK, with roughly 3000 square meters, or 150 stands. The Ministry of Commerce of China will select top brand enterprises with decades of export history and internationally-recognized quality control system authentification, presenting newly-designed products with their own brands and advanced technology. The exhibits on display include well-known brand Chinese products concentrically in the areas of gifts, stationery, toys, bags and suitcases, jewelry and ornaments, house ware and garden facilities, ranging from commodities with unique traditional Chinese features to the products with the latest science and technology in the respective fields.
Since the entry into the World Trade Organisation, China’s opening to the outside world has been increasingly broadened, and international exchange has been constantly intensified. In an effort to realize the balanced and sustained growth of its foreign trade in all aspects, the Chinese Government has been actively carrying out the strategy of “winning by brand”, encouraging export enterprises to build their own brands and upgrade the quality, level and after-sales services of their export products. It is in view of the Chinese Government’s long-term plan of implementing the strategy of “winning by brand” and the great importance attached to the European market as well as the economic and trade cooperation and exchange between China and the European Union that the Ministry of Commerce of China decides to hold the 2nd European Showcase for Brands of China in Birmingham, U.K., providing trade visitors and the general public from the European Union with a golden opportunity to get to know Chinese brands. We believe that the exhibits with superior quality, reasonable prices and excellent services are bound to be popular with the business circles and consumers in the market of consumption products in the European Union, so that the enterprises and consumers in Europe will enjoy the achievements of China’s economic growth.
