The seventh China Cross-Straits Economic and Trade Fair will open on May 18 in Fuzhou, capital of southeast Fujian province.

Companies from both the Chinese mainland and Taiwan will attend the five-day event to help promote cross-straits trade in electronics, machines and metallurgy. This year's fair will also see businessmen from other countries such as Sweden.

Last year, Fuzhou signed 367 contracts with foreign investors... with over 2.4 billion US dollars in actual use.
