Central China's Anhui Province will hold an international conference May 18-20 to invite foreign investment and investment from other provinces.
The conference will be Anhui's largest of this kind in 2005, said Wen Haiying, deputy governor of the province at Tuesday's press conference held here in Beijing.
The conference, with the theme of "communication, cooperation, development and prosperity," will be divided into five parts, with programs for investment, exhibition of excellent products of Anhui, exchange of science and technology and talents, cultural exhibition and forum on Anhui businessmen.
Investment invitation is the most important part of this conference, Wen said. Around 500 key programs of more than five million US dollars each will be recommended to businessmen for investment. The programs will cover asset merger, modern service industry, infrastructure construction, hi-tech, manufacturing, tourism and agriculture.
Electric home appliances, cigarette and wine, textile products and hi-tech products will be on exhibition. Over 200 companies are expected to attend the exhibition, Wen said.
Nearly 50 of the top 500 multinational companies in the world have applied for participation in the conference, Wen said. It is expected to attract around 2,000 businessmen from the world.
