Northwestern Polytechnical University -- China-EU E-commerce Center

The NPU campus covers an area of 2,917 mu. The University offers 53 undergraduate programs, 101 graduate programs, 57 doctoral programs and ten postdoctoral research stations. It also has the authority to confer the MBA and Master of Engineering Degrees.Currently, NPU has 1430 full and associate professors and senior engineers, among whom there are 15 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chinese Academy of Science, five foreign academicians, 12 Yangtze Rive Scholars and 320 Ph.D. advisors.

Since its foundation, NPU has trained more than 100,000 students including 2,000 Ph.D. and 13,400 Master students. Among them, there are the country’s first Ph.D. students in six different disciplines, and the first test pilots with a Master Degree. 34 Ph.D. students and teachers of the University have become the research fellows of Alexander Humboldt, and six NPU graduates are the recipients of the Chinese Ten Outstanding Youths titles.

Entrance Requirements

Entrance Requirements	Applicants should be under 25 years old. Applicants should have the same knowledge level as that of Chinese senior middle school graduates. The health condition of the applicants should be fully qualified for the Health Examination Criteria for Foreign Students Coming to China.	Applicants should be under 40 years old. Applicants should have Chinese degrees that equal to Chinese Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree. The health condition of the applicants should be fully qualified for the Health Examination Criteria for Foreign Students Coming to China.	Applicants could be from 16 to 60 years old. Applicants should be in good health condition. Applicants should obey Chinese laws as well as school rules.

Admission

Applicants send their application materials to International Students Department of Office of International Cooperation of NPU.
NPU will examine the qualifications of applicants.
NPU will mail the admitted student the following materials: Northwestern Polytechnical University Admission Notice, Application Form for the Foreigner coming to China (Form JW202).
The admitted student can hold the materials mentioned in item 3 to secure his/her visa for studying in China in Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their country.

Admission
(1)NPU’s Office of International Cooperation will mail the admitted foreign student following materials: Northwestern Polytechnical University Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for the Foreigner coming to China (Form JW202). The admitted foreign student can hold the above-mentioned materials to secure his/her visa for studying in China in the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in his own country or region, according to the time set on the notice.
(2)To study in China, the long-term foreign student must have an “X” visa, and the short-term (less than six months) student must have an “F” or an “X” visa.
(3)The foreign student can enter into China with an “L” visa if he/she can not get an “X” visa due to the time limitation or other reasons (before getting into NPU he/she must connect with NPU’s Office of International Cooperation). After the foreign student arrives at NPU with an “L” visa, NPU’s Office of International Cooperation will be responsible for hanging all the relevant formalities for visa alteration.
(4)NPU deals with application of the foreign student who transfers from other universities to NPU. In this case, NPU will handle the relevant formalities of transferring and address alteration.

(5)The health examination of the “Record of Health Examination for Foreigners” can be conducted in public hospitals at the foreign students’ own countries. When the foreign student comes to China, he/she needs to bring the original copy of the Record of Health Examination for Foreigners, the original copy of blood test report, and the original copy of electrocardiogram examination result. After the above-mentioned documents are confirmed by Shaanxi Provincial Health Quarantine Center, NPU will handle the relevant formalities for foreign students’ residence. The foreign student can also come to China to conduct health examination at Shaanxi Provincial Health Quarantine Center. If the result of health examination is qualified, NPU will handle the residence formalities for the foreign students.
